MAY PUBLISHED BY THE CAPE ST. CLAIRE SWIM CLUB 2017

From the President

The Summer of 2017 is just around the corner and we are getting very close to being ready for everyone to come on down and jump in the pool. Over the winter, there were a few improvements made to the grounds and the Pavilion. We will continue to complete the more expansive projects in the off season.

Our annual clean up day is scheduled for May 13th. Please come out to get a sneak peak at the improvements that we made over the winter as well as pitch in some time to get the grounds ready. There will be 1 guest card provided for each family that is down at the pool helping out.

Remember, alcohol is permitted at our pool by those of legal drinking age. No glass containers allowed. Please be sure to adhere to this rule so that we can continue to allow these beverages to be consumed at the pool.

There are numerous social events on the schedule for the summer including bands, late nights, food truck days and many other exciting events.

I look forward to seeing everyone at the pool this summer!

Annual Clean-Up Day

The Cape Pool’s annual clean-up date will by May 13th from 8am until 2pm. If you have time, please stop by and lend a hand. We have lots of items to accomplish in order to be ready for opening day! We look forward to seeing everyone there! Every family that helps out will get a free guest pass!

From Buildings & Grounds

We have been hard at work cleaning up the flower beds, doing some painting and getting everything ready for you to enjoy a relaxing summer of fun at the pool! We are always looking for volunteers. If you have time and would like to work with flowers or in the gardens, please let me know as we have openings on the Beautification Committee.

From the Vice President

Everybody wants to work at CSCSC!

I recently met with, Jake Thiess, our new field supervisor from the pool Management company, DRD. Jake is experienced and personable and I think we are in very good hands! Our pool will be staffed with many familiar faces and a few new ones. Most of our lifeguards grew up at the pool as young members and swimmers on the team. The fact that they want to come and work at the pool now that they are nearly grown up makes me proud of both them and of our pool community. Our lifeguards this year are:
  • DRD Field Supervisor - Jake Thiess
  • Manager - Cailin Mazan (returning)
  • 1st Assistant Manager - Ethan Gazelle (returning)
  • Head Lifeguard - Emma Edwards (returning)
  • Lifeguard - Scott Coble (returning)
  • Lifeguard - Francesca Gazelle (returning)
  • Lifeguard - Megan Keckler (new this year!)
  • Lifeguard - Finn Mazan (returning)
  • Lifeguard - Declan Moyer (returning)
