Cape St. Claire Swim Club (CSCSC) is a private club, and lessees do not have voting rights with the pool. Leases are not guaranteed availability every swim season, and the annual cost of a lease is greater than the annual membership dues. Memberships can be re-sold upon leaving the Club for market value, but leases are one-time only. There are only 175 family memberships in the CSCSC. Each year, a few members do sell their memberships. The Club also offers 25 leases issued on a first come, first served basis. Note: In recent years, the demand for these leases has been high. Club-assigned leases are usually completed by early April. If you are interested in leasing a membership, please join the Yahoo group for the Cape Pool (see information below) and look for the Membership Committee’s message when the leasing process has begun. When you receive the Committee’s email, promptly submit the required information. All membership transfers and leases are subject to approval by the CSCSC Board, which meets monthly.
We encourage anyone interested in buying, selling, or leasing a membership to join the Cape St. Claire Swim Club’s Yahoo group. This e-mail group helps connect families interested in buying or leasing a membership with families who are interested in selling or leasing their membership. As a member of the Yahoo group, you can post an offer to sell a membership, ask if a member wants to lease a membership, etc. To join, go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/capepoolmemberships/.
There are two ways to lease a membership. You can find a member who wishes to lease his or her membership, or you can ask CSCSC to help you find a lease.
Join CSCSC’s Yahoo group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/capepoolmemberships/ This Yahoo group helps connect potential lessees with members who wish to lease their memberships. You can either post a “want ad” or respond to a member who wishes to lease. This is a good way to locate a member who wishes to lease a membership and negotiate a private lease. Occasionally, a member asks CSCSC to lease his or her membership. The club will offer the lease through the Yahoo group on a first come, first served basis.
Print and complete the lease application packet posted below. If you have arranged a lease directly with a current member, the member must complete Part 1B (Member Information section of the Lease Application). Mail the completed lease application packet to: Cape St. Claire Swim Club, Inc., 1332 Cape St. Claire Rd., #351, Annapolis, Maryland 21409.
Your lease application is subject to approval by the CSCSC Board, which meets monthly. Submitting the lease application packet does not guarantee a lease, and the applicant has not leased a membership until it is approved and signed by the CSCSC Board. Leases will be given to those approved by the CSCSC Board on a first come, first served basis. If no leases are available, your full payment will be returned.
Leases are not guaranteed from one year to the next. The best way to guarantee you can use the pool is to buy a membership. Please see Buying a Bond for instructions on how to become a Bond Holder.
